About This Book
The story follows teenage sleuth Judy Bolton and her friends as a routine trip leads to a torn telegram and a stack of mysterious manuscripts, including a cache of missing poems. A yellow gown and reports of a phantom set off a chain of clues, suspicions, and close calls; the girls organize schemes, decode hints, and confront peril to protect the manuscript and its author. The narrative moves from small domestic scenes to suspenseful traps and a final rescue that untangles motives and returns the stolen work.
