The White Eagle of Poland

The work argues for the reconstruction of a united Polish state as a strategic and moral barrier to aggressive eastward expansion, tracing the historical partitions that erased Polish sovereignty and aligning Polish national claims with the aims of the Entente; the first part presents the political, territorial and demographic case for restoration and includes maps to clarify past and present boundaries. The second part chronicles conditions under wartime occupation, compares competing proposed solutions offered by occupying authorities, assesses proclamations of conditional independence, and reviews the activities of Polish military formations and political groups involved in the struggle for autonomy.
