The Stranger

The narrative follows the crew of a small mining vessel that discovers a silent, unfamiliar spacecraft landed on an unnamed planet. Tension develops between a cautious young crewman and his older commander as they argue about leaving versus investigating; the commander insists on offering assistance and ventures out to examine the other ship. Photographic reconnaissance and close inspection reveal cramped, alien interior spaces linked by narrow corridors, forcing the crew to confront the unsettling otherness of the craft while balancing obligations to help against the perilous uncertainties of contact.
