Spontaneous Activity in Education

Through close observation and practical guidance, the author argues that children develop mentally and physically when given purposeful freedom within environments adapted to their size and needs; she critiques traditional authoritarian schooling, highlights hygiene and social rights, and advocates exercises, sensory materials, and everyday practical tasks grounded in experimental psychology. Teachers should prepare and order the surroundings and act as guides rather than dominators, interrupting activity only to protect; sustained practice in meaningful work is presented as the means to cultivate concentration, motor coordination, autonomy, moral growth, and inner discipline.
