Ned, Bob and Jerry on the Firing Line; Or, The Motor Boys Fighting for Uncle Sam

The narrative follows three young friends who enlist and undergo rigorous camp training, practicing bayonet work and drills before departing for service in Europe. Once at the front they experience trench warfare, patrols, snipers, and the chaos of attacks and counterattacks, including capture and recapture, a missing comrade, and episodes of espionage and mystery tied to an enigmatic black box. Interludes at training camp and hospital, interactions with fellow soldiers and civilians, and battle sequences in notable offensives compose a sequence of action-driven episodes that emphasize camaraderie, resourcefulness, and the hazards of frontline service.
