Ned, Bob and Jerry at Boxwood Hall; Or, The Motor Boys as Freshmen

Three friends whose energetic interest in motor vehicles are sent to college by their parents to steady them. At the school they encounter hazing, awkward initiations, and an unfair prejudice against newcomers, and they befriend an eccentric professor who collects butterflies. An overturned automobile rescue, an aeroplane episode, athletic contests, examinations, and campus pranks unfold as the young men persistently apply mechanical skill and teamwork. Their actions gradually change local opinion and culminate in an important baseball victory that cements their acceptance and marks their transition toward greater responsibility.
