Miss Caprice

A tourist party stranded in Malta becomes entangled in violence and daring rescues that trigger a wide-ranging search across the Mediterranean and into North Africa. The plot follows a stylish young woman beset by rival suitors, a determined young physician, and eccentric companions as they confront assassination attempts, fires, shipwrecked stages, Moorish intrigue, and colonial military action. Academic allies and spirited acquaintances intervene to unravel debts, reveal identities, and liberate captives taken to remote mines and desert towns. The action moves through Algerian nights, battlefield encounters, and a final discovery within a Moorish household, ending with settled loyalties and romantic reconciliation.
