Ein St.-Johannis-Nachts-Traum

The play follows two pairs of young lovers who flee into a nearby forest to escape an arranged marriage, intersecting with a quarrel between fairy rulers whose magic causes mistaken affections. A mischievous fairy applies an enchantment that swaps desires, complicating relationships and provoking comic chaos. Meanwhile a group of amateur actors rehearses an earnest but bumbling play.
