About This Book
Tom Swift joins Professor Swyington Bumper on an expedition to the Copan valley of Honduras after the professor uncovers ancient documents claiming a buried city and a heavy solid-gold idol. The party follows maps through jungle and wilds, contends with hostile guides, poisoned arrows, vampire-like threats, storms and subterranean hazards, and navigates caverns with revolving stones and other traps that once entombed earlier occupants. Through exploration, narrow escapes, a betrayed companion, and mechanical resourcefulness, the group presses onward and ultimately locates the underground ruins and the prized golden idol.
