The Unexploited West / A Compilation of all of the authentic information available at the present time as to the Natural Resources of the Unexploited Regions of Northern Canada

The compilation assembles and synthesizes reports from explorers, traders, missionaries, scientists, government surveys and recreational visitors to describe the natural resources and physical conditions of northern Canada west of Hudson and James bays and east of the Rockies. It summarizes climate, soils, timber, waterways, fisheries, wildlife, and mineral prospects, and outlines transportation routes including river, lake and emerging railway links that could open remote basins to prospectors, settlers and tourists. The work collates published and archival material, highlights areas of limited knowledge, and aims to provide practical information for development, investment and further exploration.
