Fiona lives with a bookish Student by a mist-bound sea-loch and joins a quest for a legendary hoard. An itinerant hawker, a streetwise Urchin and islanders help her explore sea caves where a single doubloon and heavy marks hint at recent plunder. They reach a luminous inner chamber by boat, find the treasure gone, and confront signs of otherworldly presence.
