The Tower of London

He recounts notable sieges, imprisonments and executions and the building campaigns and alterations carried out by successive rulers, treating Plantagenet, Tudor, Stuart and Hanoverian periods in separate chapters and illustrating the narrative with plans, drawings and manuscript illuminations.
