About This Book
An elderly woman who has lived for years on a small farm is evicted when the absentee owner sends his nephew to occupy the house. Alone but for her loyal dog, duck, and pig, she and her animal companions set out together; the animals provide shelter, prepare food, and plot to recover her home. They enlist help from local creatures and use ingenuity, persistence, and mutual care to confront the intruder and restore the woman’s place. The story combines gentle humor and animal camaraderie with themes of loyalty, resourcefulness, and the importance of protecting the vulnerable.
