The Story of General Pershing

The book presents a concise life-and-career portrait of the general who led American forces overseas during the Great War, beginning with his rural upbringing and schooling and following his training at a military academy. It recounts frontier service and early combat experience, instruction assignments, participation in the Spanish-American conflict and subsequent Philippine campaigns, later operations on the Mexican border, and eventual selection to command the expeditionary army in Europe.
