The skipper knows best

A veteran skipper and his chief engineer deliver an aging coastal steamer to a regional sheik and find themselves seized by the buyer's men; a mutiny aboard leaves the officers bound while the sheik plans to use the vessel for piracy against the pearling fleet. The engineer, held as the only competent mechanic, contends with betrayal and physical violence while yearning to return home and marry the skipper's daughter. The skipper's stubborn attachment to his old ship and practical ingenuity shape attempts to resist and adapt, and the narrative follows their struggle to survive, improvise, and reclaim control from hostile crew and a ruthless new owner.
