The Rambler Club's ball nine

Five friends—Bob Somers, Dave Brandon, Tom Clifton, Dick Travers, and Sam Randall—return to their high school determined to revive athletics by reorganizing the baseball team. They recruit players, accept an offer from a wealthy townsman, and confront disputes over selection, strategy, and school politics that split the student body. Practices, games, challenges, and a growing rebellion culminate in a decisive confrontation that settles the factions. Through contests, speeches, and practical decisions the students confront leadership, fair play, and responsibility, and the episode concludes with unexpected outcomes that alter the school's sense of unity.
