The patient in Room 18

An old hospital centers on a notorious Room 18 whose occupants invariably depart under mysterious circumstances. A dinner at a nearby cottage is followed by the disappearance and subsequent discovery of a physician, triggering a police inquiry. Two nurses who attended the event and manage the ward become drawn into the investigation while balancing routine duties and institutional secrecy. The plot unspools through small, revealing clues—misplaced personal items, a missing key, a gold sequin, traces of radium—and through shifting witness accounts.
