About This Book
The narrative follows a young prince who, disabled in his legs and confined to the palace, receives from a mysterious godmother a shabby circular traveling cloak that can be folded small and, when used with imagination, transports him to distant lands and scenes. Through these visionary journeys and the kindly instruction of his guardian, he encounters varied people and situations that teach compassion, courage, and the difference between appearance and worth. Episodes alternate gentle adventure and moral reflection as the prince learns to grow emotionally despite physical limitation and to find joy and purpose within a limited world.
