The narrative follows a lively group of schoolgirls at a boarding school on the Italian coast, centering on a new girl, Irene, who negotiates friendships, secret societies, pranks, and excursions. Daily life at the villa features dormitory rituals, the secret Sorority of Camellia Buds, rivalries and alliances among classmates (notably Peachy and Lorna), preparations for school events, and comic misadventures. Episodes alternate domestic school scenes with travel outings — visits to Pompeii, Vesuvius, Capri, and the Blue Grotto — blending youthful camaraderie, shifting loyalties, and practical lessons about belonging, responsibility, and cultural curiosity.
