About This Book
A down-on-his-luck soldier of fortune answers a mysterious advertisement and, with a former comrade, is recruited by a secretive, wheelchair-bound man with an unusually large head. The men board an uncanny submarine that slips beneath the sea floor to a hidden locality where they confront detached, predatory heads and unravel the benefactor's strange intentions. The narrative moves from recruitment through an eerie undersea voyage to escalating confrontations, blending brisk action, speculative technology, and gothic horror into a compact sequence of peril, discovery, and unsettling revelations.
