The Demon Cruiser

The narrative follows an elderly passenger who transports a locked iron box of gold on a homeward voyage and becomes the target of a dark plot. After violence at sea and a mysterious watcher, survivors including his daughter, a young companion, and two sailors are stranded on a remote volcanic island. The group endures raids by hostile islanders, perilous escapes on a raft, fog and reef currents, and encounters with volcanic chasms and haunting visions. Episodes of capture, narrow escapes among ledges and trees, and escalating natural hazards drive the party toward a tense, unexpected resolution.
