The Boy Chums in the Florida Jungle / or, Charlie West and Walter Hazard with the Seminole Indians

Two enterprising adolescent friends undertake a Florida venture that requires managing crews, settling payroll, and mastering a dredging engine. Their practical efforts draw them into a jungle of hazards: an illicit convict camp, sabotage and bunco schemes, scouting expeditions, firefighting and controlled burns, midnight raids and armed encounters, and encounters with Seminole people including a medicine man and a youth who proves important. As they move camp, tend the sick, repair machinery, and organize labor, they piece together clues tied to an old fort and a hidden voice, ultimately solving the mystery through resourcefulness, leadership, and loyalty.
