About This Book
A man brings home a jeweled Martian globe and, after removing a ruby, triggers an ancient time device that traps him in a repeating ten-minute loop experienced only by him. Each cycle erases physical changes and returns events to their starting point while his memory persists, making boredom the primary threat. Recognizing the mechanism as a vengeful Martian contrivance, he refuses risky tampering and instead endures the psychological strain by occupying himself—reading, watching broadcasts, and testing the limits of the loop—hoping the device will eventually exhaust its power.
