Svensk litteraturhistoria

The work surveys Swedish-language literary production from the earliest runic inscriptions through medieval, Reformation and early modern eras to nineteenth- and twentieth-century movements, arranging material chronologically and by genre. It explains poetic forms, drama and prose, and outlines major stylistic schools, from romantic and realist tendencies to later currents, while focusing especially on the most recent century and decades. Short biographies of authors, lists of principal works and a person register support its pedagogical aim, and the text combines historical overview with close attention to representative texts and literary terminology.
