Shoe-Bar Stratton

A lean, taciturn man arrives at a remote cattle ranch and is taken on by the young woman who runs it, Mary Thorne. He and foreman Tex Lynch become entangled in a sequence of rustling, sabotage, and crooked schemes that connect to Mary’s concealed past and the newcomer’s own scars. The narrative follows mounting mysteries and counterplots, modern intrusions such as a mysterious motor-car, ambushes and traps, and a sheriff’s intervention, building to a violent confrontation on a ledge and a final unraveling when two converging trails expose the truth.
