Shawn of Skarrow

The narrative follows a lively riverine boy and his dog as he navigates childhood in a small coastal community, mixing fishing and mischief with a determined wish to become a physician. When a compassionate woman offers to pay for his schooling, he accepts and begins encounters with local figures including an elderly country doctor and his long-time servant, which reveal the routines, challenges, and humor of rural practice.
