Secrets of the Andes

Two young friends survive a car washout and join an expedition with a naturalist and companions bound for the Andes, encountering travel delays and city scenes before reaching the mountains. Along the journey they face storms, train robbers, hostile indigenous attacks, dangerous wildlife including a venomous snake and a horrible beast, and ailments from high altitude. The narrative blends action-filled escapes and rescues with close calls and fights as the group traverses difficult trails, discovers hidden wonders, and ultimately uncovers a long-concealed secret in the mountains, concluding with reunions and narrowly averted tragedies.
