Roi de Camargue

The narrative follows Livette, a young woman in a Camargue farm household whose impending marriage and daily routine are disrupted when a striking gypsy called the Reine appears, demanding oil and claiming occult knowledge. Her intrusion exposes simmering tensions among neighbors and guardians, forcing characters to confront jealousy, duty, and local superstition. Alternating intimate domestic scenes with vivid depictions of marshes, herds, and festivals, the work interweaves folklore, romantic entanglement, and community rivalries to show how landscape, tradition, and fate shape lives and loyalties.
