Physiology and histology of the Cubomedusæ / including Dr. F.S. Conant's notes on the physiology

This study combines physiological experiments and microscopic anatomy of cubomedusan medusae, reporting behavioral responses to light, temperature, and stimulation alongside detailed anatomical descriptions of bell, tentacles, pedalia, velarium, and sensory clubs. It presents histological analysis of complex and simple eyes, identifying retinal cell types (prism, pyramid, long pigment), lens and cornea structure, nerve tissue, lithocyst, and supporting epithelia, and describes thread cells and muscle fibers of tentacles. Experimental field notes from earlier work are appended, methods are outlined, and illustrative figures accompany the findings.
