My Brave and Gallant Gentleman: A Romance of British Columbia

A younger son of an aristocratic household confronts the consequences of his elder brother's reckless conduct toward a young woman, setting off loyalties, tensions, and efforts at restitution. Rural and coastal communities furnish a cast of allies and antagonists — a loyal blacksmith, seafaring crew, beachcombers, and mining and social figures — who move the action through house-parties, sea journeys, fights, musical evenings, and jealous rivalries.
