About This Book
A young woman travels to a remote frontier military post to join her father and soon becomes embroiled in a chain of dangers: a stagecoach ambush by raiders, a desperate escape across rivers and desert, and a lingering mystery that includes arrests, disappearances, and a burned station. As acquaintances deepen, past secrets emerge and a pursuit through blizzards and badlands culminates in violent encounters with hostile forces and a large-scale engagement near supply lines. The narrative alternates action scenes of defense and chase with moments of personal revelation, survival against harsh elements, and the resolution of intertwined mysteries.
