Little Jeanne of France

Two infant girls born at the same time experience sharply different childhoods shaped by war and social circumstance: one is cradled in a comfortable Paris apartment with a proud grandmother, the other arrives into a devastated village where her young mother faces invasion, flight, and scarcity.
