About This Book
A Greek-born priestess living in exile serves in a distant temple and refuses to perform the ritual killing of strangers, grieving her separation from family while attempting to soften a stern foreign king. When two Greek companions arrive, one tormented by a violent past and the other steadfastly loyal, recognition and moral dilemmas emerge. Through appeals to mercy, truth, and human feeling, they confront guilt, fate, and local custom in a bid to secure justice and a way home. The drama examines exile, identity, familial bonds, and the tension between ritual obligation and compassion.
