In Times of Peril: A Tale of India

The narrative follows a garrison community in India during a sudden uprising, tracing the escape of civilians and soldiers, their hazardous journeys, and participation in skirmishes, raids, and prolonged sieges. Episodes alternate domestic life in cantonments with vivid battle scenes, including desperate defenses, sorties, relief expeditions, and instances of treachery and retribution. A small group of young people are drawn into reconnaissance, daring escapes, and storming actions, while the plot moves through the capture, relief, and final recapture of key fortified posts before a weary return to rest after sustained exertion.
