About This Book
A first-person account recounts the organization and execution of an expedition launched from the East African coast into the continent's interior to locate and assist the long-unseen Dr. Livingstone. It follows procurement and improvisation of supplies and transport, recruitment of attendants, overland marches through named regions, periods of residence and conflict at inland towns, the eventual meeting and extended travel with Livingstone including a cruise on a great lake, and the return journey with closing reflections and descriptions of Livingstone's final words and farewell.
