Ein Sommernachtstraum

The work alternates between an Athenian court dispute over an imposed marriage and the enchantments of a nearby wood where fairy rulers and a mischievous sprite interfere in human affairs. Two young couples become entangled when magical potions cause mistaken attractions, while a troupe of amateur actors prepares a ludicrous tragedy that is later staged for comic effect.
