Don Winslow of the Navy

A young naval intelligence officer and his stalwart partner undertake dangerous assignments to dismantle a secret international crime ring bent on provoking large-scale conflict. Their work carries them from jungle coves and poisoned fog to gunboats, seaplanes, and hidden chambers as they conduct rescues, decode clandestine messages, confront spies, and endure betrayals and sudden attacks. A woman tied to high-ranking naval figures becomes entwined in their mission, while enigmatic captives and confessions slowly reveal the conspirators’ methods. The plot alternates rapid-action episodes with investigative sequences that converge on efforts to expose and stop the organization’s violent plans.
