A group of Indian workers, previously employed in the mines of Chihuahua, engage in a heated debate about the effects of dynamite cartridges used in blasting rock. While most agree that the cartridges have a devastating impact on the human body, a few argue that their effects are negligible on people. To prove his point, a proponent of the harmlessness of the cartridges volunteers to demonstrate their effects on himself. After some persuasion, he ignites a cartridge, resulting in a catastrophic explosion that injures him severely. Despite losing his hand, he insists that the cartridges are safe, attributing his injury to the fuse instead, and ultimately becomes a feared figure among his peers.
