Der ewige Mensch: Drama in Christo

The drama unfolds in a ruined dwelling where a contemplative figure named Cordatus, serene and ascetic, converses with a group of troubled companions: Tamara, who torments herself with an inner beast; Sanna, seeking affection and guidance; and Steilzack, who brings news of a violent death. Through slow, aphoristic exchanges the characters debate love, duty, guilt, and the uneasy coexistence of mercy and justice, framing spiritual longing and sacrificial imagery against social decay. The work mixes allegory and human drama to probe faith, moral responsibility, and the transformative power and danger of love.
