Carlos und Nicolás

Two young brothers grow up on the Argentine pampas and share boyhood exploits—hunting with boleadoras, riding ponies, and imagining distant lands and riches. A series of episodic adventures follows as they meet local characters, confront dangerous wildlife during a hunt, travel across rivers and mountains to Mendoza and Paraguay, witness a regional uprising, and sail via Rio de Janeiro toward Europe. The narrative mixes vivid landscape description, playful coming-of-age scenes, and travel episodes, alternating intimate domestic moments with broader cultural encounters that probe the boys' courage, curiosity, and developing sense of the wider world.
