A series of episodes follows a young rider and his companions during a cattle roundup and afterward as they return toward a remote settlement near a mountain range. Scenes combine tall-tale banter, campfire camaraderie and daily labor with more dramatic turns: masked revelers and sieges, a capture and flight, legal alibis and farewells.
