平妖傳

An episodic fantasy mixes mythic adventure, Daoist ritual, and celestial bureaucracy, following encounters between mortals, gods, and shapeshifting spirits. Tales include a monkey spirit who gains and abuses a heavenly manual and is judged by divine law, a celestial maiden who imparts fighting techniques and magical implements to aid human struggles, and numerous set-piece episodes where charms, transformations, and heavenly tribunals resolve transgressions. The narrative alternates battle scenes, supernatural contests, and moral reckonings, repeatedly testing loyalties and probing the uneasy boundary between ordinary society and the spirit world.
