About This Book
A field report compiles observations and specimen records of birds from the treeless tundra north of the Brooks Range and along the Arctic coast, based on summer fieldwork. It documents 351 collected birds representing 44 species, plus 29 additional sight records, lists camps and collecting localities with coordinates, describes methods of specimen preparation and identification, and notes that skeletons and labeled skin fragments are housed at a university museum. The account provides habitat and distribution notes, photographic plates of nests and species, acknowledgments of collaborators and supporting agencies, and minor editorial corrections to the text.
