Betty at St. Benedick's

A young girl leaves home to attend a boarding school and adjusts to lessons, routines, and occasional homesickness while seeking ways to be useful. She becomes the patrol mascot, learns Guide promises, and finds solace and purpose tending the Daisy garden. Friendships with peers and a steady patrol leader introduce her to outdoor skills and group responsibilities centered on a small silver Guide cup. When the cup is lost a tracking expedition into the wood uncovers a hidden secret and prompts cooperative effort, leading to the restoration of order and a reassuring conclusion to the term.
