Baby Jane's Mission

An eight-year-old girl with grave grey eyes travels to Africa to teach dancing and kindness to its wild inhabitants. She sets up free dancing lessons and befriends a variety of beasts and local children, triggering comic set-pieces such as circus performances, athletic games, and the formation of a makeshift army. When some companions are seized, she penetrates the enemy camp and leads a resourceful rescue that blends courage and clever improvisation. The tale combines playful fantasy and anthropomorphic animals with a childlike moral earnestness, shifting from domestic humour to adventurous exploits before resolving in a spirited, reconciliatory finish.
