A Trip to Mars

The story follows two orphaned youths under the care of a reclusive scientist who witness the fall of a great meteorite and are swept away on an extraordinary voyage to Mars. There they confront courts and conspiracies, learn to fly strange machines, explore palaces in the clouds, volcanic strongholds, and secret treasure-houses, and become embroiled in captures, daring rescues, wireless communication, and cometary perils. Rival leaders and masked plotters provoke sieges and spectacular aerial engagements, leading to a climactic battle that settles the contest and resolves their perilous adventures.
