A Son of the Immortals

The narrative follows Joan Vernon, an artist in Paris who becomes entangled with Alexis Delgrado, a charismatic stranger convinced he can claim the throne of Kosnovia. Their growing attachment propels travel and negotiation from salons and studios to the Orient Express and a turbulent court, while friends and adversaries—envoys, conspirators and soldiers—shape a mounting political crisis. Episodes alternate intimate social scenes with action: abductions, broken treaties, daring escapes and diplomatic missions. The structure is episodic, building through intrigues and setbacks to a decisive storm and a pivotal choice by Joan that determines the course of personal and national fortunes.
