About This Book
A single adult female specimen collected in northern Veracruz is described as a previously unrecognized Myotis species; holotype details, precise locality and measurements are provided. The account diagnoses the bat as small-footed with a short tail, small skull, brownish dorsal pelage and more golden underparts, pale ears and membranes, a small thumb, and a slender deeply notched tragus; skull profile and a deeply notched posterior border of P4 are emphasized. Comparisons with several regional Myotis taxa note consistent differences in size, coloration, ear and membrane pigmentation, skull proportions, and tooth morphology. Only the holotype is known.
