About This Book
A former engineer wakes to find himself shanghaied onto an orbital wheel where condemned men are forced to tend a radioactive jetroom that will slowly destroy their bodies. Realizing an ultronic door is one he helped design, he exploits its emergency hatch to lead a breakout, sparking violent clashes with station guards as he flees through the satellite’s corridors. Interleaving tense action, technical problem-solving, and the protagonist’s remorse over past drinking and loss, the narrative contrasts the claustrophobia of enforced labor and decay with the bleak, distant beauty of Earth seen from a hundred thousand miles away.
