A Check-List of the Birds of Idaho

The author compiles a systematic checklist of the birds of Idaho based on nearly six years of personal fieldwork (1938–1944) and available literature, recording 292 taxa. Each entry lists scientific and common names, regional status (resident, migrant, uncommon, vagrant), locality and date references, notes on abundance and breeding, and occasional specimen citations. Nomenclature follows the AOU Fourth Edition with noted revisions. Occurrences are organized by southern, central, and northern regions, and the checklist is presented as a beginning reference intended to encourage additions, corrections, and further field study.
